3D Fun

I went to my first ever 3D movie a few days ago.
Car sick pretty much sums up the preview portion of the night, but once the actual
movie started, it was a little easier for me to watch.
It was quite amazing actually.

100_0224

My girls and I went with my sister Maggie, as well as, my Mom and Dad (aka Mimo & Grandpa)
to see Toy Story 3.

100_0226

It was Gracie’s first movie theater experience ever.
For a brand new two year old, she did fantastic. She sat on my lap and watched the entire time.
How could she not with all the crazy 3D action?

(She may or may not have made this face the entire night to keep the glasses from falling off.)

100_0228

Mia and Sophie loved the movie and they even got a few laughs from the
crowd after a couple of their not-so-quiet comments.

100_0232

Gracie wanted to sit on Maggie’s lap for awhile.
(Second Mom.)

100_0234

Grandpa and his Toy Story 3 t-shirt girls!
He surprised them with these fun shirts when we met them at the theater!

100_0238

Mia all smiles in her new tee!

100_0240

And Sophie showing me her “Buzz shirt.”
She actually loved hers so much that she slept in it, then wore it all the next day
and then to Mia’s game that night.
Gotta love four year olds.

A Typical Summer Day

100_0246

Mia catches a few frogs in our back yard.
(She proudly swipes them up with her bare hands. Yikes!
Now I know she’s truly NOT my clone.  I wouldn’t touch a frog with a 10 foot pole!)

100_0247

They chill in some plastic bowls for a bit.

100_0249

Mia proudly shows them off to her sisters.

100_0251

Then she transfers them out of the plastic to a bit more upper- scale dwelling, a glass jar.

100_0255

Then she determines it’s time to set them free because they were starting to miss their families.

 100_0264

Water slide time! Mia in action.

100_0268

Sophie’s turn!

100_0269

A cute pose with Lily, one of the little girls I watch during the day.

100_0252

Samantha and Gracie love the water table!

100_0241

After another Pink Panther win, the girls head over to the playground for some fun with
their cousin Carly.

100_0244

Hugs!
Happy summer fun to you all!

SIX

 59F4B8~1

Six years ago today, this is what Steve was wearing.
Ready to meet little Mia, our first baby girl.
There’s nothing like an emergency C-Section to start off your baby delivering memories!

000_0097

Luckily, everything went smoothly and you came out healthy and perfect.
I know I always tell you, but you were the best baby in the world, Mia.

000_0304

Having just one baby girl was such a breeze.
I had time to play fun games such as, “Can you find Mia in the toy bed?”

000_0440

And you were Daddy’s perfect baby girl from day one.

100_0392

Today you are such a big girl.
You have strong opinions about things you never used to care about.

100_9984

You play softball, ride your bike, catch frogs, swim, read, take care of your little sisters,
draw, and still have a huge love of horses.

100_9679

You are all grown up, but you’ll always be my little Mimi.

100_0349

It’s a sad sight to see you PUSHING a stroller instead of riding in one, but I have
to accept you are not a baby anymore.

You are my big girl who I can always count on to make me laugh, smile and realize how important
family is to me.

100_0328

You started it all and will always be a role model to your sisters.
Always stay as loving and kind as you are today and, of course, keep teaching
them poses for Mommy’s camera, “HANDS ON THE HIPS!”

Happy 6th birthday to our big girl Mia!

Fireworks & Pink Hair

100_0216

After Mia’s game last Saturday, there was a random fireworks display that started just as we
were loading up the girls in the Suburban.

100_0209

We sat down on the sidewalk, right beside my old Elementary School and watched.
Gracie was in awe.

100_0222

There’s nothing better than a surprise fireworks display.

pink streak

Except for the new pink streak in my hair.
(Yes, I am 30, with a pink streak. Don’t be jealous!)

 100_0186

Last Friday, my sister Maggie came over and blonded me, free of charge,
and threw in a bonus pink streak, just like hers.

(Sorry for the scary no makeup picture!)

maggie pink streak

Can you guess which two little blondies now want a fun summer pink streak of their own?

100_9888

Mia and Sophie of course!
(I told them, maybe when they are 30 like me.)

pink streak julie roberts

But, really, who doesn’t want a fun streak of color these days?
Julia Roberts is older than me and is totally rocking a pink streak.

pink streak rachel 2

And who doesn’t love Rachel McAdams?
Even though I could never go this PINK, I think it fits her perfectly.

100_0197

So our Saturday night at the ballpark last weekend was filled with slushies, ring pops, fireworks and a pink streak.
What could be better than that?

100_0215

Sophie even had her “fireworks” pillowcase dress on!
Perfection!

St. Louis 4th of July

I hope that you all have a fabulous 4th of July weekend and get the chance to watch lots and lots of fireworks.
(And maybe even put a pink streak in your hair!)

Happy 4th of July!

Two Birthday Parties in One: A Duck Quackin’ & Guitar Strummin’ Good Time!

Last weekend we celebrated Gracie’s 2nd birthday, which was May 28th and Mia’s 6th Birthday, which is quickly approaching on July 8th. (Tears…)

It was our first ever dual party and it ended up being such a fun day filled with Ducky (since Gracie’s favorite toy is her friend ‘Ducky’ that she sleeps with every night!) &
Taylor Swift excitement!

047

Thanks to my cute sister Haley, I have pictures documenting this wonderful day.
My pictures, and videos, were all accidently erased by Mia.
Not a good feeling.
However, it was just another reminder why I am so blessed to have sisters.
They always have my back….. and a really awesome camera, which totally helps.

033

The dining room festiveness!

I made the same tissue pom poms that my sister Haley made the weekend before for her
cuties’
Circus themed party that I posted about earlier this week….. remember Neverland Ranch?

034

I put them everywhere!
They replaced balloons for this party, which was a fun twist.

I also made a few buntings out of scrap book paper triangles and ribbon to drape around
the house just to add a splash of color.

035

I also made a few guitar and duck cupcake toppers.

036

I strung guitar garland on our sliding glass door and some duck garland above my kitchen sink.
I also hung a few guitars and ducks randomly throughout my kitchen for some more fun.

037

My last name sign I had in my kitchen.

038

The ducky candies were a huge hit!

 054

Grandpa tickling the birthday girl!

057

Can you tell how much Gracie loves my sister Maggie?
She still considers her a second Mom.

080

Ready for the Duck Hunt!
Team Awesome: Ethan, Sophie & Ella.

 081

The Duck Hunt in action!

 077

Gracie girl loved the Ducky tank top I made her.
But her all-time fave was the duck hairclip I made!
You can’t really tell in this picture, but it looked like a duck with a pink bow, googly eyes,
orange beak and all!

032

Sophie was so excited to get her very own guitar tank.
And she has yet to take off her Taylor Swift necklace.
(These were Mia’s favors to the older girls at the party.)

041

Mia rockin’ her guitar tank and ribbon skirt, (tutorial coming soon!) along with her
Taylor Swift necklace and earrings!

095

Nothing better than a game of Pin the Beak on the Duck.

097

Little Meade dominated.

103

Gracie did pretty good too!

106

Ella getting ready to pin the beak!

114

Ethan getting spun around a few times.

123

Carly was one of the three winners!

125

Mia’s turn!
(Yes I have a Taylor Swift necklace on as well. Very trendy for 30 year olds in case you weren’t aware.)

068

Tyler didn’t get his turn at Pin the Beak, but how cute is this baby boy’s smile?!
I could eat him.

137

Speaking of eating, Abigail was quite edible as well!
Look at her cute cheeks!!!

145

Next up, our traditional cake pose!

155

Gracie is ready to blow out the candles.
I love this picture…. look at Ella’s cute face!

 199

My cousin Kelsey was such a big help to me, not only reading Toy Story to Gracie, but in helping my sister Maggie with the Duck (Scavenger) Hunt clues.
You girls are the BEST! Thank you!

164

Present time!
(Here is a better shot of the duck hairclip! so fun!)

177

And finally, Mia’s favorite present of the day.
A new Softball bat from Aunt Maggie, of course!

Happy Birthday to Mia & Gracie!
I hope you both loved your party this year.
I think it was definitely one of the best days of this summer so far!
