Bed Rest

I am still sick.
The yucky, once every two or three years illness I get filled with the ever lovely body aches, chills and hot flashes.
FYI, cold sweats are the worst. Just in case you forgot.
Because I almost did considering the last time I felt this awful was in the winter of 2007 when I was pregnant with Gracie.
Three years ago!
So needless to say, the past 24 hours I have been on bed rest every chance I can get.

However, I am so thankful for a wonderful friend like
Heather who kindly offered to take my girls for me and bring me soup.
This is the exact reason I heart her so
If only she didn’t live in California. Boo.

So I struggle along without her soup (pity party) and face the fact that the show must go on no matter how horrible I feel.
I have three little girls to wake up, get dressed, feed breakfast and drive to school which is, quite honestly, hindering my dreams of any bed rest.
Not to mention, the five other children that I am so thankful and blessed to care for everyday and share our days with.
However, it definitely confirmed to me that my line of work as a mom of three little girls and as a daycare provider, does not easily come with the ever so needed, once every few years, sick day.

So truly, my bed rest consists of merely lying still during nap time, chugging ibuprofen to rid my body of the awful aches and hoping that tomorrow I will feel better.

So, until I can get the energy to upload our fantastic fun photos from Halloween, here are a few from several weekends ago when we went to visit my sister Haley’s family in Illinois.

On the way home the girls wanted to hop out of the car to watch a huge barge make it’s way under the bridge we were about to cross.
And Gracie, of course, wanted to see her pal Popeye who we have nicknamed after these photos.

Here Popeye stands in Chester, Illinois, where his creator grew up.

Here it comes!

What a view on the border of Missouri and Illinois.

And finally a shot of all three girls posing by Popeye.

I hope you are all having a sick free week!
