Change

Is a beautiful thing.
Keeping life full of the ever desired feeling of something new.

100_1634

As people, we are in constant motion.

100_1633

Always changing.

100_1635

Always growing.

100_1644But then a slight alteration, that could easily go unnoticed, creates such dramatic and beautiful changes.

Like the decrease in sunlight which slowly causes changes like these…..

October 25, 2010…..

100_2014

and today, October 29, 2010.

A total transformation.
This got me thinking.
If these gigantic trees can change so much in just nine days, imagine what we as people can change about ourselves in the same amount of time?

I feel we are all striving to be better.
Better mothers. Better friends. Better people.
But in order to know where you are going you must know where you’ve been.
To own who you are and who you want to be really takes time. Time of reflection.

Take it from these three pumpkins.
One minute they are plain, basic, and closed.
Then they are transformed into something completely unique with a totally different purpose in life.
Something they always knew they had in them.
The ability to bring so much happiness and joy to three little girls.

{Gracie’s shoe of the week}

As humans, we are always evolving.
For example, one day we like crocs, but the next we go for the Cinderella slippers and pink socks look.
All. Day. Long.

We can become whatever and whoever we desire.
However, changing in hopes of becoming perfect?
A toxic desire. We are not meant to be perfect.

Rather than striving for perfection, embrace your differences that make you stand out from the crowd.
Love yourself.  Embrace your faults and embody who you are.

{Mia’s Orange & Black Day at school}

Shift your life goals and instead of it being about what you can get and how successful you can become, make it more about becoming whole as a person.
You can not go through life trying to be perfect and remain whole.

The superficial outside appearances can change in an instant.
But instead of focusing on the outside so much, try to work on the inside changes that you know would make you a happier more whole human being.
Live and examine life.

If all the trees can change so dramatically in just nine days, think about what you can do to better yourself, your life, your children, your world.

Sledding in the Fall

What does my crazy family do to entertain six kids on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at my aunt’s house while re-roofing her house?

100_1874

We get a huge box and put them in it then push them down a big hill. Don’t you?
I bet you will now the next time you are desperate to keep your little ones busy for six hours while the adults do this…..

100_1889

With the nail gun in hand, my dad, along my cousin’s hubby Tony, tackle some shingles.

100_1859

I contributed somewhat by picking up this throughout the day.

100_1876

My sister Adie’s hubby Meade taking a break.

100_1863

As the kids got more antsy, my dad came to the rescue with the fun idea of box sledding.

100_1870

I seriously want to be a kid again.

100_1871

Samantha was not quite sure as she headed down the slope.

100_1867

Little Meade loved it.

100_1869

And Gracie’s grin says it all.

100_1865

Even Mia had fun sledding down the hill.

100_1877

A quick break to swing….

100_1917

then the body surfing began.

100_1918

Mia even stood up and surfed a few times.
I knew that deep down she had a little Cali in her.

100_1912

After Sophie hijacked my camera she snapped tons of cute shots including this one of Adie and baby boy #2 in her belly.
I’m taking a poll, should she go with another M name to go along with little Meade? Maybe Mason? Or Myles? I say yes to both!

100_1909

And I end with one of her famous self photos.
I love the breezy hair in the face look.

Have a great Wednesday and happy box sledding to you and your little ones!

Pumpkin Picking & Leg Warmers

Every year, in October, my mother and father in law take all their grandkids to the Pumpkin Patch.

100_1748

Our girls were so excited to see their cousins and pick out their very own pumpkins.

100_1740

So excited, in fact, that Gracie decided to wear her leg warmers on her arms so everyone could see them better.
She calls them her “Ghostbuster warmers”  and then sings, “Who ya gonna call?!”

100_1738

Sophie decided to wear her Halloween dress from last year.
This was my very first sewing project ever made from two dish towels.

100_1743

Mia was pumped in her pumpkin orange shirt (and about 1000 silly bandz!)

100_1750

I am normally the photographer in our house.
But since I had to meet up with everyone later after I got off work, my husband snapped some photos for me.

He did a such great job and it made me feel like I didn’t miss a thing.  Like Sophie’s pose on the yellow slide and Gracie in action….

100_1753

one….

100_1751

two….

100_1752

three!

100_1765

A cousin pose on this old fire truck.
Look at Gracie “holding on” to sweet Abigail.

100_1774

And the fave of the day, obvees.
Is there anything better than dimples? I don’t think so.
What about crazy blonde bangs in the face?

100_1790

A group shot before heading over to Nana and Papa’s for a Spooktacular party.

100_1794

Until we meet again, Pumpkin Patch and “Ghostbuster warmers.”
You will be missed by these three for sure.

cheers & sun flare

Mia had her debut cheerleading performance last week at her school’s Fall Festival.
Being that I was always more of a sporty girl, it was interesting when she told me she wanted to do Spirit Squad this year.

100_1675

I am so glad she decided to, as she has had so much fun with her friends. She’s also learned some super fun cheers that I may or may not like to cheer right along with her.
How cute are the Pom Poms by the way?
I love me some SPIRIT!!!

100_1673

After Mia’s performance on the cafeteria stage, Sophie ran up to her and gave her a big congratulatory hug.

 100_1682

Me with my big girl cheerleader.

100_1681

I thought it would be fun to snap a few pictures of the girls outside as the sun was setting.
I adore sun drenched blonde pigtails, don’t you?

100_1688

Playground time!
Let the sun flare fun begin.

100_1692

Sophie ready to attempt the monkey bars, in a cute modelish way.
I just love her poses….

100_1697

…see what I mean?
The over the shoulder serious glance. Such a classic.

I asked these three crazy girls to give me some poses on the blacktop since I had a fun sun flare opportunity.
My husband was complaining of the “glare” while I kept snapping away.

100_1698

Hip popping poses when Gracie’s eyes close.
Standard.

100_1699

Giggles.

100_1700

Love this one.

100_1701

Sun flare, I love you.
And I will love you even more when I get a real camera.
With an actual lens.
One day.
